O-Center Nutrition

Once a month, the women in the Nutrition Program come to the O-Center to be weighed, receive their nutrition packages, and learn a bit about their health and how to care for their families. This past week, we decided to teach them a lesson on reproduction and sexual health. This is taught in grade 10 in public schools but most women have dropped out by grade 5 (if they had the privilege to go to school). We explained how you can track your period so you know when you are most and least likely to get pregnant. They were mesmerized! These women do not have access to birth control, and they had no idea you could control it to some extent. It has been incredible to be here and see the way these women are being empowered! These Indian women have a BRIGHT future! *Written by a visiting World Racer
